Led by Galway native sisters, Rachel and Hannah Healy, Yoga Mara focuses on bringing balance and calm back into our hectic lives
through yoga, mindfulness, good food and great company.

The sisters shared passion of the rugged outdoors, yoga, good food and beautiful venues, convinced them to specialise in creating high end wellness experiences. Being proud West of Ireland women, they will be showcasing the stunning venues, hotels and locations around the West of Ireland in the process.

Clients of Yoga Mara range from Corporates to Athletes to Hoteliers, to Zen Hens. There is no limitation to who can benefit from Yoga Mara, because we all can. Living in this modern, increasingly fast paced world, we are constantly ‘on’. Our minds are in overdrive and it’s not until we find stillness that we can truly connect back with our Self. Create new ideas. Discover what we truly need instead of what we think we want.

Yoga Mara’s main goal is to educate guests on the importance of taking some personal time. Time to reflect, to be still, to be present.

It’s time to go back to basics. Time to re-charge those batteries. Time to learn something new.
Time to feel energised and empowered. Time for an Escape.

Allow Yoga Mara to be your Escape.

The Co-Founders

Rachel Healy: Yin

Rachel completed her yoga teacher training in Koh Phanghan, Thailand in August 2017 where she also received a level 1 in Reiki healing. Rachel has also completed her 8 x week MBCT/MBSR training in Mindfulness – Based Cognitive Therapy in the Mindfulness Clinic, Merrion Square, Dublin.

Rachel’s passion for yoga is preceded by a love of ballet and modern dance in her youth. She has been practicing yoga for many years but when she discovered Vinyasa flow yoga she immediately connected with this style where asanas are linked through the breath for a transformative and balancing effect. The incredible healing benefits of yoga are not just for the body but also the mind. Through the practice of yoga, Rachel found something that could help keep her grounded and was a tool to help alleviate stress.

As a primary school teacher, Rachel teaches mindfulness techniques and yoga to young children in her class, noticing a significant progress in the children’s levels of concentration and confidence.

Hannah Healy: Yang

Hannah completed her Yoga Teacher Training in March 2019 in Costa Rica. Her personal journey through this intense experience only deepened her love and understanding of Yoga and how wonderful it can make you feel, both physically and mentally. Specialising in Karuna Flow, Yin and Restorative, Hannah’s yoga teaching style brings with it an element of relaxation massage through hands on assist and energetic touch alignment.

Hannah is also a professional Event Planner and has worked in the events and marketing industry for over 10 years. After spending many years working in Australia and New Zealand, and 4 more working in the Irish business tourism industry, she realised her conversations always reverted back to one main point… How great Ireland is!

The people, the landscape, the food, the culture and the craic.

With passion and enthusiasm, both Rachel & Hannah will be making sure each Escape, class or workshop runs seamlessly from start to finish, allowing guests to fully switch off knowing they are in safe hands.

Gentle Flow

Perfect for beginners, this morning's class is a gentle practice that encompasses deep, slow stretching with a side of energising vinyasa flow. Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath, commonly referred to as 'flow'. Vinyasa classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are ever alike. The variable nature of Vinyasa Yoga helps to develop a more balanced body as well as prevent repetitive motion injuries that can happen if you are always doing the same thing every day. As a philosophy, Vinyasa recognizes the temporary nature of things. We enter into a posture, are there for a while and then leave. Everything is constatnly changing and we must learn to let go...

Athletes Yoga

Tonights class is a much slower pace of yoga using a combination of Vinyasa and Yin. Yin yoga stretches and targets both the deep connective tissue between the muscles, and the fascia throughout the body. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility. A great one for any atheltes/runners or those in need of a more meditative and deep tissue practice.
