As a part of the Velaris resort, in the bay Vela Luka, just 20 meters from the sea and the beach stands a building from the beginning of the 20th century. Now completely renovated it carries the name Villa Vela Luka.
Unique in architecture and the place in which it was built, the Villa captures you with the beauty of the interior. Through the big windows the landscape ”enters” inside, bringing in the green morning silence, midday beach sparkle and the seductive sunset glow.
The perfect location for our sunset yoga on the beach, listening to the waves lapping against the shore and witnessing the sea changing from blue to pink!
Yoga Mara will not only offer healing surroundings, but also healthy organic grown food. Villa Vela Luka grows its own vegetables and melons in its own fields and brings them directly to your dining table. They also have their very own olive grove which has 4,500 olive trees. Each year they make cold-pressed, gold medal winner, extra virgin olive oil that their head Chef uses to make your delicious meals.
Yoga Mara will be offering various styles of yoga practice throughout your Croatian Escape. The benefits of practicing different styles of yoga at different times of the day are proven to help with boosting energy levels, aid healthy sleep, and enable complete relaxation and revitalization of the body and mind.
Some of the yoga styles we will be practicing together are:
Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. Commonly referred to as “flow” yoga, Vinyasa classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are ever alike. The opposite would be “fixed forms” such as Bikram Yoga, which features the same 26 postures in every class, or Ashtanga which has the same sequence every time.
The variable nature of Vinyasa Yoga helps to develop a more balanced body as well as prevent repetitive motion injuries that can happen if you are always doing the same thing every day.
Poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. A more meditative approach to yoga, its goals are awareness of inner silence, and bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality.
(or Yogic Sleep) is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, like the “going-to-sleep” stage, typically induced by a guided meditation. There is evidence that yoga nidra helps to relieve stress and is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness.
